About this Event
The Tron Theatre is delighted to be a part of this year’s Doors Open Days. With a theme of ‘Glasgow Goes Out: The Places That Made Us’, it seems only appropriate that we throw our stage doors open to the public.
We will be offering short tours of the full theatre buildings including the James and Robert Adam church auditorium, the historic 16th century Tron Steeple and the JJ Burnet Wall as well as revealing the illustrious history of this famous theatre.
You will see what happens in all the unseen areas of the building. We know our audiences love what we put on the stage, now we want you to see what goes on behind the stage.
Starting from 11am, with the final tour at 4.30pm, each tour will be free but ticketed.
The final part of the tour will require climbing steps to enter the Tron Steeple, but this part of the tour can be omitted, if preferred. All other aspects of the tour are accessible by lift or ramps.
Meeting point will be the Tron Box Office, entered via Chisholm St.
Also, take a bit of time to enjoy our café/bar, open from 11am Tue–Sat with our standard menu, and opening specially, on Sunday 20 September, from 10am with a tailored offering for Doors Open Days.

Tron Theatre
Tron Theatre has been a major player in Glasgow’s cultural scene for over twenty years. Producing and presenting an eclectic collection of new writing, reinvigorated contemporary classics, dance, comedy and music, the Tron occupies a spot in Glaswegian hearts as unique as the building that houses it– the 16th century Tron kirk, survivor of over 500 years of cultural change and social upheaval.
Tron Theatre specializes in staging new and contemporary classic theatre across our two theatre spaces—our Main House theatre and the smaller Changing House studio—curating an eclectic programme of work throughout the year which responds to the cultural interests and needs of the diverse community of Glasgow and beyond.
The Tron’s annual, highly irreverent Christmas pantomimes have achieved something of cult status.
