Last year, 48% of surveyed visitors told us they walked or cycled between Festival events, showing just how many people are already choosing greener ways to explore Glasgow. This year, we've made sustainable travel even easier, with four festival-friendly cycling routes connecting the East, South, West, North and City Centre. Whether you cycle, wheel, walk, take the Subway or catch a train, there are plenty of low-carbon ways to discover Festival venues across the city.

We want everyone to enjoy the festival. That's why every venue, event and walking tour listing includes detailed accessibility information.

Whether you're looking for wheelchair access, accessible toilets, disabled or public parking, bike parking, or hearing loop facilities, you'll find it clearly displayed.

We also provide practical accessibility details, such as step-free routes, the number of steps at entrances, and nearby water refill points, helping you plan your visit with confidence.

Find answers to the most common questions about visiting the festival.

Are tickets really free?

Yes. Every building, walk, talk and tour is free to attend. Some popular events fill up quickly, so booking ahead through Eventbrite is wise. Drop-in spaces are always available if you prefer to explore without planning.

Can I bring children?

Absolutely. Many venues welcome families and some run dedicated children's activities. Check individual event details on the programme to find what suits your group. The festival is designed for all ages and curiosities.

What if I miss a time slot?

Most venues stay open throughout the festival, so you can visit at any time during opening hours. If you've booked a specific tour or talk, contact the venue directly to see if another slot is available. Flexibility is built into the schedule.

Can I take photographs?

Photography is permitted in most buildings for personal use. Some venues may have restrictions in certain areas, so ask staff when you arrive. We'd love to see your festival photos shared online.

Are dogs allowed inside?

Some venues welcome well-behaved dogs, but policies vary. Check the access information for each building before you visit. Many outdoor spaces and streets are dog-friendly throughout the festival.
