About this Event
On this tour we will learn about the pub’s history, its relationship with the Gorbals, the artwork which graces the walls and some of the famous visitors who’ve called in for a drink over the years.
Most excitingly, we will uncover the secret to a perfect pint of Guinness.
The Laurieston became a listed building in 2010 for its well-preserved 1960s design which includes distinctive tiling, retro signage and fully intact Formica furniture.
The pub was described by Historic Environment Scotland as “an excellent example of 1960s public house design of which very few examples are thought to remain today” and its unique interior has earned a spot in CAMRA’s prestigious Inventory of Pub Interiors of Outstanding Historic Interest.
The tour will commence at 2pm outside the front door of the pub, and will last 30-40 minutes.
