About this Event
In September 2016,a group of local people got together to launch the Get Glasgow Moving public transport campaign, which has since grown to become one of the most well-known and well-respected passenger groups in Scotland.
Join us to celebrate Get Glasgow Moving’s first decade, as we reflect on the big wins, and some set-backs, which have got us to where we are today – on the cusp of finally seeing a world-class, fully-integrated public transport system rolled-out across our region through SPT’s plans to deliver bus franchising and Clyde Metro.
The opening event at 18:00 - 20:00 on Thursday 17 September will feature a discussion with key activists involved in the campaign’s launch, and who have volunteered their time in fight for better public transport overthe last ten years.
Presented as part of the Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival 2026.

New Glasgow Society
New Glasgow Society is a civic society promoting, protecting and raising interest in the City of Glasgow, through campaigning, discussion, projects, talks and exhibitions.
Get Glasgow Moving is the grassroots regional public transport campaign founded in 2016 by local people.
The campaign aims to achieve a fully integrated, affordable and accessible publicly owned and delivered public transport system for Glasgow and the wider Strathclyde region.
We have several hundred members and thousands of supporters. Day to day running of the campaign is led by a volunteer management committee elected at the AGM.
