About this Event
A walk starting at Shields Road underground station, along Scotland Street, down West Street, up Kilbirnie Street, up Salkeld Street, along Cook Street, up West Street, along Wallace Street past Centre Street, ending at Bridge Street Underground.
SGHET champions and explores the histories and places of South Glasgow through a wide range of activities, publications, and projects from guidebooks and podcasts to blogs, talks, walks and other community ventures.
For Doors Open Day we are conducting a series of guided southside walks.

• Document histories/places of South Glasgow
• Grow/share understanding of complex histories
• Engage with the diverse community of South Glasgow and promote the rich culture
• Strengthen the link between the natural and built environments of South Glasgow
Each walking tour is a chance to see locations and hear stories, hopefully new, informative and fun about the sites and buildings en route.
Includes links with James Bond, cutting edge 19th century technology development and how a beautiful and natural area hides signs of the early Industrial Revolution.
