About this Event

Hamilton Hay Van Jonker (HHVJ) is an architectural practice founded in 2024 that works largely with historic and listed buildings. We invite you to our studio, the former Adelphi Public Terrace School (1894), to explore the theme of “Glasgow Goes Out” through the lens of two of our projects.

History of Glasgow's Entertainment Scene Talk

Drawing on our research into two of Glasgow’s most well-loved performance venues - the Britannia Panopticon Music Hall and the King’s Theatre - we will deliver a talk which explains the development of the city’s entertainment scene as it evolved from the early days of the Glasgow Fair, sing-alongs and trained fleas in the back room of pubs, to the varied cultural offer we see today.
