About this Event
Glasgow's last surviving Edwardian public bathhouse, Govanhill Baths, will be opening its doors for Glasgow Doors Open Days Festival 2026.
Tours of Govanhill Baths
This is a rare chance to go on a guided tour and get a first glimpse at how it is being transformed into a Wellbeing Centre, helping regenerate the area and meeting the needs and aspirations of its community.
We will offer tickets on our guided tours to those from initially G41 and G42 postcodes, and then from other postcodes.

About this Venue
Govanhill Baths
Govanhill Baths is a Category B listed Edwardian public bathhouse and washhouse located at 99 Calder Street, Govanhill, Glasgow, Scotland, designed by the architect A.B. McDonald, built between 1912 and 1917 and opened in 1917.
The building remained operational as a swimming and washing complex until Glasgow City Council decided to close the building with a view to demolition in 2001.
With this news, local residents occupied the building in what became the longest continuous occupation of a public building in British history.
Govanhill Baths Community Trust was formed, and in 2012, the trust re-opened the building as a wellbeing centre and operated wellbeing activities, community spaces and event in the building until the capital build began in 2020.
Once again, the building was closed, this time for the restoration and refurbishment project.
We hope to re-open the building to the public some time in 2027.
