About this Event

Explore Glasgow’s lost nightclub heritage on a walking tour through the venues, stories, and communities that once shaped our city’s nightlife. Through personal memories and local history, we reveal why remembering these stories matters and the connections lost when these spaces vanish.

Glasgow’s Lost Nightclubs Walking Tour celebrates the city’s clubbing heritage by exploring the venues and communities that once kept the city bouncing long after dark.

Through photographs, personal memories, and archival research, you will discover clubs that played a significant role in Glasgow’s cultural life but have since disappeared from the urban landscape.

From sweat-soaked dancefloors and all-night raves to underground techno nights and legendary clubbing institutions, the tour highlights the friendships, creative connections, and shared experiences that grew from these spaces.

It reveals the lasting impact nightlife has had on individuals and communities while reflecting on the social, cultural, and economic consequences of its decline.

The walking tours will take place on Friday 18th and Saturday 19th September, beginning at the former nightclub Flying Duck, 142 Renfield Street, Glasgow G2 3AU.

Tours start at 12:15 and 14:15 on both days, last approximately one hour, and finish at the former nightclub Bonjour, 37–45 Saltmarket, Glasgow G1 5NA.

Visitors are asked to arrive 15 minutes before the tour begins.During the walk, participants are invited to share their own memories and experiences, helping to preserve Glasgow’s nightclub heritage and contribute to a richer understanding of the city’s cultural history for future generations.
