About this Event
To mark the centenary of the Easter Rising as a seminal event in 20th century Irish history. We were keen to highlight the role of the Glasgow-based members of the Irish Volunteers and Cumann na mBan who went from Scotland to Ireland to participate in the 1916 Rising, in Dublin, Galway and Wexford.

A walk through Glasgow's East End and Centre to visit sites with links to Irish revolutionary history and Glasgow connections.
Led by members of the 1916 Rising Centenary Committee. We'll go via Glasgow Green through sites of arms caches, drilling grounds, arrests and shootouts!
The walking tour will finish at the site of the old Duke Street jail in High Street.
