About this Event

Through open studios, workshops and markets and events, Crownpoint Studios celebrates the connections, creativity and shared experiences that make Glasgow. A historic East End building reimagined for today's creatives, it is home to a diverse community of creatives and small businesses.

Visitors are invited to explore Crownpoint Studios through a programme of creative activities and building tours throughout the day.

Drop-in Building Tours

Discover the history of 142 Crownpoint Road, from its origins as a church outreach centre and industrial warehouse to its current role as a thriving creative hub.

Visitors will have the opportunity to explore the studios and meet some of the artists and makers who work within the building.

Pottery Painting Demonstration & Workshop

A drop-in opportunity to learn basic ceramic decorating techniques and paint a pottery piece under the guidance of resident ceramic artists.

There will be a second pottery painting session for visitors who wish to take part later in the day.

Meet the Potter Demonstrations

Live demonstrations showcasing the ceramic-making process, with opportunities to ask questions about materials, techniques and life as a working potter.

Hand Building Taster Workshop

An introduction to hand-building techniques, allowing participants to create a simple clay piece while learning about traditional and contemporary ceramic practices.

Wheel Throwing Taster Workshop

Visitors can experience throwing clay on the potter's wheel and gain insight into one of the most iconic ceramic-making techniques.

All activities are designed to showcase the creative community within Crownpoint Studios and provide visitors with hands-on opportunities to engage with contemporary craft and making.
