11-Year Milestone Exhibition
Celebrate 136 years of BDA Scotland and 11 years of the BSL (Scotland) Act 2015 with a special exhibition exploring Deaf history, culture and activism, which includes a timeline, cultural symbols, and imagery of the Scotrtish Deaf community.
Through historical posters, photographs, magazines, timelines and cultural imagery, visitors can discover the story of Scotland’s Deaf community and the vital role BDA Scotland has played in championing Deaf rights and BSL advocacy since 1890.
The event also highlights BDA Scotland’s ongoing work today, including Deaf Roots and Pride Transitions, the BSL (Scotland) Act 2015, social isolation and loneliness, and dementia support.
