We live a life in varying lighting conditions, and a life which has ever expanded into an active nighttime.

The development of lighting technology allows provocations and cultural expression beyond the private environment of our homes.

Experiencing the nighttime environment is fundamental to understanding our cities and the people within them.

The most direct way to do this is through the action of walking, taking time to concentrate on how our senses and our understanding of space changes when we have less visual information.

This walking tour led by a lighting designer and an architect will explore how we light the city and how this light helps 'Glasgow go out'!

We'll start from the iconic Barrowlands Ballroom sign and make our way back to the city centre with a number of stops to discuss architectural lighting, illuminations, artworks and more.
