I want to bee a garden

Creative Pollination was hosted by Woodlands Community Development Trust during the spring and summer of 2020, both online and in and around Woodlands Community Garden. Tutored by Amy Clarkson, it was part of our new Nature Recovery project which helps people to recover from the stress of the Covid pandemic through spending time outdoors in nature.

Ephemera
by
Fabio Rebelo Paiva

This project began during the peak of the COVID-19 pandemic and was developed while I was in isolation on my own.
While living alone at home and deprived from human contact and without the possibility of experiencing life outside my apartment walls I came to realise how much of the environment that surrounds I wasn’t pay attention. I was fortunate enough to have access to the communal garden in the building and that’s how I started photo- graphing flowers.
Every time I would go out to buy groceries or fifirst need goods I kept taking more and more pictures of gardens and flowers around my local neighbourhood. Photographing flowers was an unexpected yet interesting journey contributed in many positive ways, for my mental health.
I feel that this initiative brought me not only closer to the people in my community but most of all it allowed me to become part of it too
