Knightswood St. Margaret's Parish Church
2000 Great Western Road, G13 2HA
1932, Sir Robert Lorimer
This stone built Category B listed building, designed by Sir Robert Lorimer, dominates Knightswood Cross and surprisingly inside resembles a mini cathedral! It also houses a 152 year old Father Willis Organ.
Do come and visit this well kept architectural secret dating from 1932, reputedly the last stone built Church of Scotland. If you have been before you may even notice changes since the last GDOD. Enjoy too the calmness which the building evokes.
Guided tours will be available which will explain the history of the building and the imagery of the beautiful wood carvings.
There will also be an opportunity for you to listen to the magnificent 2-manual Father Willis Organ which celebrated its 150th birthday in 2016 and which has been played by internationally acclaimed recitalists.
