Glasgow City Innovation Centre (GCID) is Scotland’s first innovation district. Building on Scotland’s rich heritage of scientific excellence and ingenuity, this is a hub for entrepreneurship, innovation and collaboration. The District is the result of a successful partnership between Glasgow City Council, the University of Strathclyde, Scottish Enterprise, Glasgow Chamber of Commerce and Entrepreneurial Scotland and brings together ambitious, forward thinking people focused on driving inclusive economic growth as well as tackling societal and global challenges. Located in the heart of city centre, the District combines world-class skills and talent base, a vibrant city atmosphere and a community of companies, researchers and organisations dedicated to supporting and encouraging innovation - the place to live, work, play and innovate!

Welcome to GCID, Scotland’s first Innovation District, launched in Feb 2019. GCID is a hub for entrepreneurship, innovation and collaboration. Anchored by the University of Strathclyde and centred on Glasgow’s thriving Merchant City, the District is home to innovative companies and organisations who locate here to nurture and accelerate inclusive growth, improve productivity as well as access and develop world class talent, research and technology within a vibrant “live, work, eat, play, innovate” environment.
