WORKSHOP - Hands-on Heritage Crafts at the Lighthouse

The Lighthouse, 11 Mitchell Lane, G1 3NU
Children’s event: Although this event is suitable for children, adults too will enjoy and learn from the activities at their own level.
Glasgow’s architecture is world-famous, so we’re shining the spotlight on the craftsmanship behind the buildings. Stained glass is part of Glasgow’s decorative language, from the medieval cathedral to the Edwardian tenements. Plasterwork was traditionally the “finishing grace” to “every noble building,” like the Athenaeum, Laurieston Place, and the City Chambers. And Glasgow has rightly been called a “Symphony in Stone,” its Victorian City Centre fabulously decorated with extravagant stone carving. These drop-in craft workshops will introduce participants to these creative crafts, letting them take home a both their craft piece, and a deeper appreciation of Glasgow’s ornaments.
