Drop in and explore medieval life in Scotland! Have a go at archaeology activities, history-themed crafts, and Viking dress-up. Meet ancient warriors, artists and musicians from the lost Kingdom of Strathclyde and get hands on with the everyday ancient objects that today's archaeologists discover from over 1,000 years ago!
Hear about ferocious battles won and lost in ancient Scotland and try on heavy chain mail armour. Wield a Viking sword and make your own heraldry flag for marching into battle. Choose your Viking name and try your hand at medieval arts and crafts, like making decorative clay pots, wool weaving and rune-writing!
Interested in finding out about the more gruesome side of historic research? Explore ghastly graves and disturbing digs as we tell you about spooky archaeological finds from around the world!
Between 12pm and 3pm, drop-in to learn about the biographies hiding in our bones! The graveyard at Govan is believed to be the burial ground of Strathclyde’s ancient kings and powerful Viking settlers. Come along to hear all about the scientific data archaeologists can extract from human skeletal remains to reveal hidden details about life in Scotland's ancient past!

Accessibility: Limited - Our building has some access restrictions. We have a ramp which can be used to get wheelchairs inside. The majority of the building and collection are accessible with a wheelchair once inside the church but one artefact, the sarcophagus, is difficult to get to.
