Avenues & Lanes; discover the regeneration of Glasgow City Centre

350 Sauchiehall Street, G2 3JD
Both the ‘Avenues’ and ‘Lanes’ projects involve partnership working at a local level with a key objective of making the City Centre more accessible for all users. This tour and talk will allow us to observe different stages of progress and discuss some of the key motivations behind each project.

The tour will start at the Centre for Contemporary Arts on Sauchiehall Street where the Council’s flagship ‘Avenues’ project has recently been completed. We will then make our way through the City Centre taking in several ‘Lanes’ projects along the route and finally end up in the historic Merchant City. Here, we will be given a talk and presented with the projects in more detail by those who are directly involved. We will also consider the upcoming regeneration ambitions for Glasgow’s City Centre followed by an opportunity for questions and discussion.

So bring with you an inquisitive mind and some comfortable footwear and join us for this fabulous lunchtime learning experience. More information on Glasgow City Council’s City Centre Strategy can be found on the Council’s website. The event is expected to last no more than 2 ½ hours.
